The Bentley Beetham Collection, an award-winning website that was underpinned by a year-long project undertaken by us, was launched to great acclaim in April 2008.
The project, delivered entirely by M G H Consultants, is an excellent example of leveraging the value of collections and allowing global access to them using the internet. The project involved digitisation, archiving, metatagging, developing an estrategy and putting that in place with the final result - phase 1 of the Bentley Beetham Collection (http://www.mghconsultants.com) - Best Voluntary Sector Website, North East Digital Awards!
But the story need not end there - with online merchandising, print sales, social networking and online and offline exhibitions combined with learning materials, podcasts and modern photography of Tibet and Everest there is still massive scope to engage new audiences, develop a sustainable audience-base and to create revenue to fund further developments.
